In the last election for the Mayor of Williston, only 1,990 votes were cast (2010). We can’t let that happen again. The only way to force change is to do your part and cast a vote.
Did you know that North Dakota is the EASIEST state in which to vote? In fact, North Dakota is the only state where you do not have to register in order to cat your vote. The rules regarding ID’s were just updated though so if you have lived in your precinct for at least 30 days and have a valid ID, that’s all you need to vote in person. If you vote by absentee ballot you do not have to have a North Dakota ID, you must only have lived here at least 30 days and have someone vouch for you.
In North Dakota particularly in the Western half, voting often conflicts with work schedules. While it is not mandatory, the state encourages businesses to work with employees so that they can make time to cast their ballot. If you cannot do this, you can vote by absentee ballot. It’s a very easy process and anyone can request an absentee ballot. (see below for instructions and the link to the form)
VOTER REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS
Age: Must be at least 18 years old on Election Day
Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen
Residency: Must be a legal resident of North Dakota and a resident in the precinct for 30 days preceding the election
