I want to write a post regarding every good (and some REALLY BAD) place we have eaten at. Why? It’s simple really, these places are rare. They are gems. Some don’t make it and that’s a shame. They are victims of a town that is odd. Some come here thinking that everything is lined with money and all they need to do is open their doors and people will buy. “Build it and they will come”. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. One example of this was our favorite Mexican eatery, Oh, Burrito!.
They had thier share of issues but they had fantastic food. Slow cooked meats, double corn tortilla tacos, and several different salsas. What they didn’t have was business know how and customers found themselves going in only to ask what was available today? They were frequently out of ingredients and I never once got to try the guacamole. Sometimes they had no ice, sometimes no drinks. At least once they were completely out of napkins. NAPKINS! Have you ever tried to eat a juicy taco with nothing to wipe your hands on? It wasn’t pretty.
More than once they were closed when they were supposed to be open because they didn’t have anyone to work or they ran out of food. I know it can be tough to get supplies here but there was no excuse for that. Over and over this happened. How hard is it to send someone to Albertson’s and buy some stinking avocados?
You might wonder why we bothered to go back so often? The food was amazing. Unfortunately the last time we went, the doors were closed for good and the for sale sign was up.
