I’m going to tell you right now, don’t take away my coffee. I don’t care if the doctor says that I’m on the edge of death, I’ll die with a cup of coffee in my hand.
Funny thing is, I didn’t even drink coffee until ten years ago. We went on a camping trip and my husband (who is the master coffee maker) made a caramel coffee that woke up everyone in the redwoods. It was freezing and wet and of course I had gotten little sleep so I had a cup. The birds sang and the sun came out. I never looked back. I know start my morning with a cup of coffee. Just one, rarely ever two. I do occasionally get one of those ice blended things if we are out but they are practically milk shakes so I don’t consider them coffee, more like occasional treats.
There are secrets to making good coffee, but I can’t share them all with you. I can tell you we put a teaspoon of brown sugar in with the grounds so when it brews the sugar is infused with it. As for creamer I prefer a tablespoon of Bailey’s vanilla creamer (non alcoholic mind you).
When I get up in the morning my husband (who refers to me as bunny much of the time) says there is a zombie bunny loose in the house. The cup of coffee cures that quick and fast. My kids have been drinking coffee since they were little too. I’m not one of those people that believe coffee will stunt your growth or will harm you, in fact I think the benefits far outweigh the down sides. All in moderation of course.
